No mirage, it’s water dug by ONGC in Thar

Dehradun, June 18
After successfully having drilled 'black gold' in several locations around the world, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has now dug out water in the parched desert area of Rajasthan.

Usually known for exploring petroleum and gas ('black gold') options, the Indian oil giant has achieved the rare feat in Thar desert (under Jaisalmer) by using its expertise in geological studies and drilling capabilities under its 'ONGC Project Saraswati'. The underground water has been dug out.

Mayawati, Bhajan forge alliance

Chandigarh, June 18
In a major political development in Haryana, the BSP and the Haryana Janhit Congress joined hands today for the forthcoming Assembly elections and the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2014. The announcement came after a meeting between BSP supremo Mayawati and HJC leaders - former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and his younger son Kuldeep Bishnoi - in Lucknow. The father-son duo had specially flown to the UP capital for the meeting.
