ARMY RECRUITMENT RALLY CONDUCTED AT JALUKIE

Indian Army Recruitment Rally was conducted at Jalukie in Peren District from 9th to 14th June 2009. The rally was open to candidates for Mokokchung, Wokha and Dimapur and Peren. The Army Recruiting Office, Rangapahar informed rally for the remaining districts of Nagaland had already been conducted during the special recruitment rally held at Jakhama in March this year. The recruitment rally was open especially for sportsmen for all North East states who had participated at the state or higher levels in recognised games.

            The first day of the rally was for aspirants from Mokokchung and Peren district, wherein the turnout of candidates from Mokokchung at entry point was for short of expectation but from Peren district more then 300 boys turned up. The written exam for medically fit candidates will be held at Rangapahar (Dimapur) on Sunday 28th June 2009 and the results will be declared within two weeks' time. The Director, Recruiting Office said that due to the new policy of promoting sportsmen there were a large number of vacancies in the technical trades. The vacancies have been thrown open to for all states of the northeast.

            The number of vacancies is not announced and candidates who meet the laid down criteria are therefore permitted to appear for written exam and based on the over all order of merit successful candidates are allotted to various regiments. Candidates are advised not to fall prey to people posing as middlemen, touts and agents who promise to get candidates enrolled. The screening process is free, fair, transparent and conducted under public scrutiny.
