CM attends Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji 'Shahidi Parv'

16 June : Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, offered his obeisance to Shri Guru Arjun Dev Jee on his 403rd Martyrs Day by visiting the Gurudwara Saheb here today. He listened to 'Shabad Kirtan' and devotional sermons delivered by the 'Granties' to mark the 'Shahidi Parv' celebrations organised by Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Shimla.

Addressing the congregation Chief Minister said that Sri Guru Arjun Dev jee had made supreme sacrifice for the cause of the community. He said that Guru Arjun Dev jee consolidated members of the community, appealed them to stay united, overcome injustice and follow the path shown by the founder of Sikhism, Shri Guru Nanak Dev jee, which was the ultimate solution to all such problems.

Prof. Dhumal said that Sikhism was a combination of all the faiths and has best of every religion in it. He said that the teachings of Shri Guru Granth Sahib jee happens to be the guiding force for leading a successful life and people adopting them in their day to day activities had been achieving success on all fronts. He said that Sikhism was a way of life which teaches people to lead a disciplined and devotional life attain eternity and underlines the need to follow the same for better and successful life. He said that 'Shahidi Parv' reminds people of renewing the pledge to follow the path shown to the society by the great 'Gurus'.

Chief Minister assured that the demands raised by the Sabha were under consideration with the State Government and positive outcome was expected in the near future. He assured all possible assistance to facilitate the devotees in carrying their devotional services conveniently.

Sardar Ravail Singh, President, Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Shimla, welcomed the Chief Minister and presented him a 'Siropa' as a token of thanks giving for the visit.

Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, MLA, Shri Ganesh Datt, Vice Chairman, HIMUDA and other senior officers also accompanied the Chief Minister.
