Four jawans killed, 11 others injured in J’khand Naxal strike

16 June : At least four jawans, including one of Jharkhand Armed Police, were killed and 11 others injured at Baherakhad under Manatu police station in a four-hour encounter with proscribed CPI (Maoist) ultras in Palamu district on Tuesday.

The ambushed ultras opened fire on the police team, which was returning from Log Range patrolling, police said, adding four jawans were killed and 11 wounded.The three other deceased were jawans of district police.The injured were rushed to state capital by helicopter.About 21 policemen had been killed in separate Naxal strikes in the last one week in the state.
