Irregularities, in distribution of Solar Lights in Marwah area alleged

BY MOHD MAJID MALIK : Kishtwar, June 16:- Tehsil Marwah of District Kishtwar is still un-electrified , peoples are still living without electricity and adopting the old methods of K.Oil lamps , wooden torches , patromaxes etc. according to their economic condition. The state government sanctioned Solar Lights on subsidized rates for the inhabitants of Tehsil Marwah , and accordingly two departments viz Science and Technology through JAKEDA, and Rural Development Department was engaged for identification of right beneficiaries and distribution of solar lights to them. The employees of Rural Development Department posted in Marwah collected advance amount @ Rs. 750/- per family during year 2006, onwards but presently the actual beneficiaries are being deprived from the provision of Solar Lights on the instigation of some political leader of particular party . Expressing the resentment and sorrow , the people of Hanzal Marwah through Nariyan Dass , Numberdar said that near about
Rs. 40000/- have been collected by the employees of Rural Development Department receipt of which are lying with them, but presently the actual and right beneficiaries are being deprived from the supply of Solar Lights, as the concerned dealing Officers are misusing their official capacity and obliging his blue eyed persons by providing solar lights to them that too who are living in Kishtwar and other cities, while taking to this media person " he produced the list of 50 beneficiaries who have been deprived from the supply of solar lights.
Meanwhile a deputation of aggrieved residents of Qaderna and Hanzal Marwah under the leadership of Rehmtullah Malik met to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, and demanded high level enquiry in the discrimination being made by the employees through the hands of some vested interests of particular political party in distribution of Solar Lights, and gross irregularities which is being committed by the employees in this regard they also submitted the representation for its onwards transmission to higher authorities including Chief Minister for redressal of their demands.
The sufferers of Hanzal Marwah threatened that if the discrimination continued with them they will agitate the matter and migrate from Hanzal Marwah to Distt. H.Q Kishtwar as they are being made political victims frequently through the hands of Particular political party self interested so called leaders. They said it is the height that only one Teacher is posted in Middle School Hanzal where 82 students are reading in this school.
